Pre-Christmas Jollies…………

Now’s the time for going to staff/works parties, watching everyone getting drunk, I’m just wondering how the hell I’m going to get back on track with my quest.

Then I found this:

In ’95 I went home to see my family over Christmas, armed with a few tunes. I got bored on Christmas Eve & made a tape, using the vinyl that made the trip with me as well as selections from the family collection.

I got so inspired I was at it again Boxing Day……….

I’ve not really been keeping up with this uploading lark, so I’ll put a couple of things here I’ve been listening to (or trying to)

Finally got round to finishing one of my own tracks:

Despite being an “Ol’ Soul ‘Ead”, & long-retired b-boy, the latest material that I’ve been able to actually finish seems to be primarily downtempo, electronica-type stuff. It’s possibly a reaction to the rather ‘hectic’ (one way of putting it) time I’ve been having recently

I’m not especially religious – I simply liked the way the words seemed to run together.

It was only afterwards that I thought about the (possible) meanings & the concept of closeness, togetherness & connectedness.

I was struggling to find an appropriate image to accompany it on Mixcloud – most seemed to fit into the cliché of deserts & Middle/Far Eastern pseudo-mysticism. Then I came across this image on the Universe Today website, as part of their Astrophotos strand. Taken by Canadian, Kerry-Anne Lecky Hepburn, of the night sky inBinbrook,Ontario, I think it’s the perfect companion piece.

If you want to check out more of her work, check out her website, which has some of the most amazing photos, plus details of how she does it.
